spockThere are people who influence us for a variety of reasons, and in numerous ways.  Leonard Nimoy was such a person.  Oh, I never knew him personally.  I did enjoy his work on screen, as a director, as an actor and many other roles.

But mostly I knew him as Spock through three seasons of Star Trek and through the Star Trek movies that eventually followed.

It was through Star Trek that my love of science-fiction has taken such a hold on my  life.  It was by loving this show and these particular characters so very much over the years that my imagination has taken such flights to galaxies unknown.

A star has gone out in my particular universe this day.  Godspeed Mr. Nimoy.  Thank you for sharing Mr. Spock with all of us.

WaitingOWednesday“Waiting on” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we are desperately waiting to get our hands on.

Sometimes a series just takes so long to offer up the next story.  I always know when the next part is coming for a favorite series – it’s marked on my Google Calendar.  (sad I know)

On this week’s pick – I don’t have to wait too long now – the next novel in the series Magic & Mayhem is coming this May.

Witches Be BurnedIn Stacey Kennedy’s steamy paranormal romance novel, a rookie guardian sworn to combat the undead risks life and love in a world of violence, witchcraft, and seduction.

Nexi Jones has lost her family, she’s been stripped of her guardian duties, and she’s still learning the ins and outs of white magic. At least she has Kyden, the smoldering hot elite guardian who’s been there for her every step of the way. But just as Nexi completes her training, tragedy strikes the Otherworld when a fellow guardian is murdered by a group of rogue vampires. Ready or not, she and Kyden trek into the Earthworld to hunt down a killer—and Nexi alone will be put to the ultimate test.

Although Kyden knows that Nexi must fight her own battles, his guardian instincts are raging as he struggles to keep her close. The ruthlessness of these vampires is like nothing he’s ever seen. And at their helm is the Black Witch Astoria, a demon with one burning desire: to shed Nexi’s blood in the name of vengeance. What troubles Kyden even more, though, is the warlock who covets Nexi’s heart. Let the devil do his worst . . . all Kyden can do is love and protect Nexi until his last breath.

What are you waiting for?

Thought you might like to know what’s in store should you decide to take a chance on Christine Feehan’s ongoing series Ghost Walkers.  Enjoy.

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: Do you enjoy debating / discussing the books that others are currently reading? Why, or why not?

My Answer to the Random Question this week:

I love talking books.  I don’t often debate books, I figure everyone is entitled to their own opinion – but I will talk about books or favorite authors for hours if allowed  🙂

I’m Super excited to tell you about…(bookish news)..

This new blog of mine.  I have my main book review blog Keeper Bookshelf where I review a variety of genre.  I’m simply a book nut, I live to read it often seems.

One of my  main loves in novels are the Paranormal focused books.  Vampires, Warlocks, Werewolves – you name a paranormal creature I will read about it or watch it in movies or on television.

So I decided to create a new blog (this one) called Haunted Bookshelf which will focus purely on Paranormal Novels (and the occasional movie or television series).  It is less than a week old and truly in the early stages.  But I wanted to be in touch with other like minded folks who love their paranormals too – so what better way to connect than to reach out through weekly events or memes.

(please excuse the thinness of Haunted Bookshelf right now, but soon it will have reviews galore on it’s pages)

Thanks for stopping by.  Marsha @Haunted Bookshelf & @Keeper Bookshelf

unhappy black cat

I bid you welcome to  A Haunted Bookshelf.

This blog is a part of Keeper Bookshelf (dot) com – where I have my main book review site located.  At Keeper Bookshelf I review a variety of genre — Contemporary Romance, Historical Romance, Regency Romance, Paranormal, Fantasy, Mystery, Urban Fantasy, New Adult, Suspense and some YA.

On Haunted Bookshelf you will find novels with a paranormal overtone.  There might be ghosts.  You might be introduced to a community of vampires contentedly living in the Carpathian Mountains.  It’s possible you will encounter werewolves and their mates.

What you read about here will be Paranormal in nature.  Love stories, of course.  But not your accepted human romances – not when shifters are involved.  *smirks*

If you enjoy these types of novels then I sincerely hope you will come along on our journey.  There will, in time, be additions of weekly features and such.  But all in due time. For now, I simply hope to entertain you by telling you about some really interesting paranormal novels available at your local bookstore or library right now.
