Dani Malloye hates the holidays, and with good reason. Though her best friend tries to force the Christmas spirit on her with giant Santas and elves that light up, she’d rather spend her time doing what she does best–enforcing paranormal law on the streets of Chicago.
Nothing like a little evil bloodshed to lighten the mood. Besides, work means she can spend time with her sexy boss, Cornell Sutton. Too bad Cornell is uptight, her new neighbor, and a vampire.
Everyone knows slayers and vampires just don’t mix. Or do they?
Read on for my thoughts on Hunted Holiday: A Vampire Romance. No true spoilers, promise.
Cornell Sutton has been trying, unsuccessfully, to keep his hands off of his mate – the mate that has no clue that she belongs to him, yet. He first knew when Dani started training for the team, then to be safe he’d passed her training off to his friend Finn. Now she was an excellent slayer for the BPI of Chicago. And watching her be injured last night would have killed him – if he weren’t a vampire. Watching her from the window across from her home he took the ribbing from Finn with half of his attention. How in this world could he get Dani to care about him, the man and not her boss. He couldn’t put off much longer the overwhelming need to claim his mate. And he knew once he did, everything would change.
To say that her Fae friend, Mimi overdosed on Christmas would be the greatest understatement of the year, perhaps even this century. She also knew that her friend was simply trying to help Dani over the worst time of the year for her, full of memories that simply could not be put aside. But for Mimi with her infectious laugh and a never ending supply of lawn decorations for Dani’s home, she’d put on a brave, cheerful face even if they both know it’s as fake as that silly plastic reindeer’s nose.
She feels Cornell’s eyes on her from across the street. Damn if that man, erm, vampire wasn’t always watching her. Okay, she’d admit to herself that she found her boss attractive and maybe wouldn’t mind jumping his bones – but he was her boss.. so that wasn’t going to happen any time soon. Little did Dani realize that she was about to come face to face with a frightening cheerful Cornell – a vampire who was determined to finally claim his mate – now.
Hunted Holiday: A Vampire Romance is a smexy, fun and charming Christmas Paranormal Romance. So fair warning, if you don’t like intimate bedroom details – well, just skim that part – but don’t miss a funny, engaging story because they get down and sexy. They are, after all, true mates.
The description of Dani’s growing Christmas decorated lawn is hilarious as is her attempts to build an anatomically correct snowman – much to Mimi’s dismay. It’s simply a fun paranormal romance, set at Christmas time – and the start of a series. Indulge yourself and enjoy.
Available in paperback and for the Kindle (once this was only available in a 2014 set – now it’s available in a single story format)
